Urban Culture Homes Aero2 Transit Wheelchair

Lightweight, effortless, and built for life on the move. The Urban Culture Homes Aero2 Transit Wheelchair is the ideal companion for anyone who needs a reliable mobility solution without the bulk. Weighing just 8.8kg, this ultralight transit wheelchair is designed to go wherever you go — whether that is navigating busy streets, fitting into tight indoor spaces, or packing into the overhead compartment on a plane.

The standout one-touch fold system means you can collapse the chair in a single motion, making it one of the fastest and easiest wheelchairs to pack away. It slots neatly into the boot of most cars and meets the portability requirements for air travel, so you are never held back by your equipment.

Built on a carbon steel frame and fitted with four 8-inch wheels, the Aero2 delivers a smooth and stable ride across a variety of surfaces. Attendant brakes are integrated directly into the handles, giving carers immediate stopping control at any moment. With a maximum weight capacity of 100kg and a compact folded width of just 260mm, the Aero2 proves that small does not mean limited.

Whether for daily use at home, weekend outings, or international travel, the Aero2 is the transit wheelchair that keeps up without slowing you down.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between a transit wheelchair and a self-propelling wheelchair?

A: A transit wheelchair, like the Aero2, is designed to be pushed by a carer or attendant rather than propelled by the user. It features smaller wheels all around, which makes it significantly lighter and more compact than self-propelling models. This makes it the preferred choice for travel, outings, and situations where a carer is always present to assist.

Q: How does the one-touch fold system work?

A: The Aero2 features a single-action folding mechanism that collapses the entire frame with one simple motion. There are no complicated steps or latches to navigate. This makes it incredibly fast to pack away, which is particularly useful when getting in and out of vehicles frequently throughout the day.

Q: Can this wheelchair be taken on a plane?

A: Yes. The Aero2 is specifically designed with air travel in mind. Its ultralight 8.8kg weight and compact folded dimensions make it suitable for checking in as mobility equipment or storing in aircraft designated storage areas. We recommend confirming with your airline ahead of travel as policies vary between carriers.

Q: How light is it and can one person manage it alone?

A: At just 8.8kg, the Aero2 is one of the lightest transit wheelchairs available. Most adults can comfortably lift it in and out of a car boot without assistance, and it can be folded and stored with ease by a single person.

Q: What safety features does the Aero2 include?

A: The Aero2 features attendant brakes built directly into the push handles. This allows the carer to apply braking quickly and intuitively without needing to reach down or locate a separate brake lever. This is especially important on slopes, ramps, and busy public spaces.

Q: What is the maximum weight capacity?

A: The Aero2 supports a maximum weight of 100kg, making it suitable for most adult users in a transit setting.

Q: How compact is it when folded?

A: When folded, the Aero2 has a width of just 260mm, making it narrow enough to store in tight spaces, slide under beds, or fit alongside luggage in a car boot. It is one of the most space-efficient transit wheelchairs in its category.

Q: Is this wheelchair suitable for everyday use or just travel?

A: While the Aero2 excels as a travel wheelchair, it is equally well suited to everyday use at home, in aged care settings, medical facilities, and during outings. Its lightweight design makes it easy for carers to manage throughout the day without fatigue.

Q: What is the seat size and is it comfortable?

A: The seat measures 390mm wide and 390mm deep, with a seat height of 500mm. The backrest measures 330mm wide and 310mm high. While the Aero2 prioritises portability, the seating dimensions provide adequate support for most adult users during regular transit use.

Q: Does it come assembled?

A: Yes. The Aero2 arrives ready to use with minimal setup required. The one-touch fold mechanism is intuitive and requires no tools to operate, so it is ready to go almost immediately out of the box.
