Product Description

Urban Culture Homes Deluxe Shower Commode Attendant Propelled

Dignity, comfort, and practicality where it matters most. The Urban Culture Homes Deluxe Shower Commode Attendant Propelled is designed to make personal care routines safer, easier, and more comfortable for both the user and their carer. Whether used over a toilet, in a wet area, or as a shower chair, this commode delivers the kind of thoughtful design that genuinely improves daily life.

The curved waterproof backrest and 10mm EVA foam seat cushion provide a comfortable, supportive seating surface that holds up in wet environments without compromising on hygiene or ease of cleaning. The cushion is fully removable, making maintenance straightforward and hassle-free.

Adjustability is at the heart of this commode. The overall height can be set anywhere between 940mm and 990mm, and the seat height adjusts from 480mm to 530mm, allowing a precise fit for each individual user. The legrests can also be adjusted tool-free, so carers can make changes quickly without needing any additional equipment. Flip-up armrests make transfers in and out of the chair smooth and safe, which is especially valuable in compact bathrooms and tight spaces.

Four plastic wheels fitted with brakes keep the commode securely in place during use, giving users and carers confidence on wet bathroom floors. At 11.7kg, it is manageable to reposition when needed while remaining sturdy and stable during use.

With a generous safe working load of 125kg and a compact overall footprint of 700mm by 500mm, the Urban Culture Homes Deluxe Shower Commode is a practical and reliable solution for home care, aged care, and rehabilitation settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a shower commode and how is it used?

A: A shower commode is a wheeled chair designed for use in the bathroom during personal care routines. It can be positioned over a standard toilet for toileting assistance, rolled directly into a shower recess for bathing, or used as a general shower chair in a wet area. The attendant-propelled design means a carer can safely wheel the user between positions without requiring the user to stand or transfer multiple times.

Q: Is this commode suitable for use directly in the shower?

A: Yes. The Urban Culture Homes Deluxe Shower Commode is built for wet area use. The curved backrest is waterproof and non-slip, and the EVA seat cushion is removable for thorough cleaning after use. The plastic wheels and frame are designed to withstand regular exposure to water without deteriorating.

Q: How does the tool-free height adjustment work?

A: The frame height and legrest length can both be adjusted without the need for any tools. Simple push-button or pin-release mechanisms allow carers to make changes quickly and easily, which is particularly useful when the commode is shared between users of different heights or when adjustments are needed during a care routine.

Q: How do the flip-up armrests help with transfers?

A: Flipping the armrests up clears the side of the chair completely, allowing the user to slide across from a bed, another chair, or a wheelchair without having to lift over a fixed obstruction. This significantly reduces the physical effort required from both the user and the carer during transfers and lowers the risk of injury.

Q: Can the footrests be removed entirely?

A: Yes. The footrests are fully removable, which allows carers to position the commode closer to a toilet or into a shower recess without the footrests getting in the way. The footplates are also foldable, giving you additional flexibility depending on the space you are working in.

Q: How do the brakes work and are they effective on wet floors?

A: Each of the four wheels has an individual brake that locks the wheel in place. The brakes should always be engaged during use to prevent the commode from rolling while the user is seated. The plastic wheel construction is suited to smooth bathroom floor surfaces, and locking all four wheels provides a stable and secure base even in wet conditions.

Q: What is the seat cushion made from and how is it cleaned?

A: The seat cushion is made from 10mm EVA foam, which is a soft, lightweight, and water-resistant material commonly used in healthcare and rehabilitation equipment. The cushion is removable, so it can be taken off and wiped down or rinsed thoroughly after each use. This makes maintaining hygiene straightforward for carers.

Q: What is the maximum weight this commode can support?

A: The Urban Culture Homes Deluxe Shower Commode has a safe working load of 125kg, making it suitable for a broad range of adult users in a care setting.

Q: What does the warranty cover?

A: All components of the Urban Culture Homes Deluxe Shower Commode are covered by a 12-month warranty. This covers manufacturing defects and component failures under normal use conditions.
