Product Description

Urban Culture Homes SteadyStep Rollator

Steady, reliable, and built to move with you. The Urban Culture Homes SteadyStep Rollator is designed for people who want to stay active and independent without compromising on safety or comfort. Whether you are navigating the home, heading to the shops, or moving through outdoor spaces, the SteadyStep provides the stable, confident support you need to keep going.

At just 7.5kg, the lightweight aluminium frame is easy to manoeuvre across a wide range of surfaces. The four-wheeled design rolls smoothly indoors and outdoors, giving you consistent stability on both flat and uneven ground. When you need a rest, the built-in seat and independently adjustable backrest are there to provide a comfortable place to pause.

The SteadyStep has been designed with customisation in mind. Seven individual height settings for the armrests and an adjustable handle height ranging from 835mm to 965mm mean this rollator can be precisely fitted to suit users of different heights. The removable backrest adjusts independently, allowing each user to find the most comfortable position for their needs.

Storage and transport are just as well considered. The patented folding mechanism collapses the rollator to a standing position with a secure locking buckle, so it stays upright and stable when not in use. A detachable reflective storage bag is included and can also be carried cross-body, keeping your essentials within reach at all times.

With a generous safe working load of 136kg, durable 8-inch PVC wheels, and a design that works equally well indoors and outdoors, the SteadyStep Rollator is a long-term mobility companion you can rely on every day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a rollator and how is it different from a standard walker?

A: A rollator is a wheeled walking frame that allows the user to push and glide rather than lift the frame with every step, as required with a standard walker. The SteadyStep features four wheels, a built-in seat, and handbrakes, making it significantly easier to use over longer distances and across varied terrain. It is particularly well suited to users who need support while walking but want to move more freely and naturally.

Q: How do the height adjustments work?

A: The SteadyStep offers seven individual handle height settings ranging from 835mm to 965mm. Adjustments are made using simple push-button or pin mechanisms that do not require any tools. This allows users and carers to find the ideal height quickly and easily, ensuring the rollator provides proper postural support and reduces strain on the wrists, shoulders, and back.

Q: Is the backrest adjustable and can it be removed?

A: Yes on both counts. The backrest adjusts independently of the handle height, so you can set it to exactly the right position for your comfort regardless of where the handles are set. It can also be fully removed if preferred, giving you a cleaner profile or accommodating users who do not require a backrest.

Q: How does the patented folding mechanism work?

A: The SteadyStep features a patented fold-to-standing design, which means when folded it stands upright on its own rather than needing to be laid flat or leaned against a wall. A secure locking buckle holds the folded frame in place, preventing it from unfolding accidentally during storage or transport. This makes it particularly convenient for small spaces and car boots.

Q: Is the storage bag included and how does it attach?

A: Yes, a reflective storage bag is included with the SteadyStep. It attaches directly to the rollator frame and can be detached and carried cross-body when needed. The reflective material also adds a safety benefit for low-light conditions, making the user more visible to others when out in the evening or early morning.

Q: Can this rollator be used outdoors?

A: Yes. The SteadyStep is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The 8-inch PVC wheels handle a range of surfaces including footpaths, shopping centre floors, and light outdoor terrain. The four-wheel design provides consistent stability across different environments, making it a versatile choice for users who move between indoor and outdoor settings regularly.

Q: What is the maximum weight this rollator can support?

A: The SteadyStep has a safe working load of 136kg, making it suitable for a wide range of adult users and one of the more generous weight capacities available in the rollator category.

Q: How easy is it to brake and stop?

A: The SteadyStep features handbrakes that the user operates by squeezing the brake levers on the handles. This provides smooth, controlled stopping during use and can also be locked in position to keep the rollator stationary when the user is seated on the built-in seat or standing still. The braking system is intuitive and easy to operate for most users.

Q: What does the warranty cover?

A: The SteadyStep Rollator is covered by a 12-month warranty on all components, excluding general wear and tear. This covers manufacturing defects and component failures arising from normal use conditions.
